Privatisation opposition reaches Assembly and Westminster
Motion's supporting Union action against the privatisation of home care in Carmarthenshire have been put forward in Westminster and the National Assembly of Wales. The Motion's raised by Rhodri Glyn Thomas AM and Adam Price MP are aimed at raising awareness of the strength of opposition to the plans and to give support to demonstrations being organised by Unions.
Mr Thomas said:
"The level of opposition to these plans is staggering. Adam and I have raised these motions to highlight our concern and to give our full support to the Unions and care workers in their fights against the proposals."
Mr Price added:
"Care workers throughout the county are up in arms over these plans. The strength of feeling is evident to see. I hope that alongside the Unions we can force the council to rethink its plans."
