Towy Valley Home Care Privatised
The Towy Valley has been left with no in-house home care after moves to privatise the area were put in place. Workers have been informed that they have been relocated to other areas starting Wednesday the 14th of March and resident currently receiving care will all be moved over to independent care.
Rhodri Glyn Thomas AM said:
"I am disgusted at the way the council has implemented these proposals. Some of these carers have received less than a weeks notice and one who contacted me even found out as a result of a patient informing them."
Adam Price MP added:
"The carers in the area are heartbroken. They have dedicated themselves to building strong working relationships with their clients and the families. They have a great understanding of the local area and have been left devastated at the decision to privatise the home care in the Valley."
