Press Release

5 Streets a week proves a huge success
Carmarthen East and Dinefwr's Assembly Member and Member of Parliament are celebrating a year of their '5 streets a week' campaign. Rhodri Glyn Thomas and Adam Price have been delighted with the response to the scheme designed at actively going into the community to meet constituents and listening to their concerns
Mr Thomas said:
"Some of the main issues that Adam and I have been campaigning over, such as the privatisation of health care services and cut backs to day care centres have been brought to our attention through this scheme. It has proved a fantastic outlet for meeting constituents and being able to tackle their concerns in a proactive manner."
Mr Price added:
"The days of waiting for your elected member to hold street surgeries have gone. Rhodri and I still hold surgeries on Monday's and Friday's and our office is open full time for constituents to call in. However, the 5 streets a week initiative has helped us regularly meet our constituents from all areas of the county and find out the issues that are affecting them."
