Plaid call on greater support for local charity

Following complaints from the disabled worker's cooperative at a lack of support by the council Rhodri Glyn Thomas AM has written to the Council's chief executive. The Plaid AM has called on Mark James to look into the charity's claims that there has been no council assistance and has urged him to ensure that the DWC are helped in their aim to ensure disabled workers have an equal ability to gain employment.

Mr Thomas said:

"I have written to the chief executive as I am very concerned that this charity, that offeres a great deal to the disabled community in Carmarthenshire, is not receiving the necessary support."

Adam Price MP, a patron of the charity added:

"This is a fantastic service which is helping to empower disabled workers. It is important that through facilities such as the disabled workers website, awareness of the potential of disabled workers is realised. I hope it is possible for the council to take an active role in aiding the Disabled Workers Cooperative in their very important work."
