Plaid Members Concerned at Sewage facility

Carmarthen East and Dinefwr's elected representatives have spoken over their concern at proposals for an open-air sewage sludge composting facility. Although the actual site if just outside their constituency, Rhodri Glyn Thomas AM and Adam Price MP have fears over the proposals as the stench could be smelt up to five miles away affecting parts of their constituency.

Mr Thomas said:

"I have been approached by constituents that fear these proposal as they are within the five-mile radius zone that will be affected. I have written to Eifion Bowen, Head of Planning at Carmarthenshire County Council highlighting my constituents concerns"

Mr Price added:

"Our constituents are very worried that this facility will cause a great deal of intrusion despite being up to five miles away from the plants proposed site. There are a number of issues to be considered in addition to the smell such as the environmental impacts and increased traffic in the area."
