Plaid MP nominated for politician of the year award
Plaid MP Adam Price has been nominated for the prestigious BBC AM:PM Politician of the year award. Following on from his recent success at being named the Western Mail's Greatest Living Welsh Politician, Adam's campaigns on the Government's conduct in the run up to the Iraq War has prompted the nomination.
Constituency Colleague Rhodri Glyn Thomas AM said:
"Adam's success has delighted everyone associated with Plaid Cymru, especially here in Carmarthenshire. I'm over the moon that the hard work that Adam has done is being recognised. The nomination is just reward for the work Adam has done, and continues to do not just for the people of Carmarthenshire but for all of Wales."
Mr Thomas added:
"Adam has made headlines for his defiant and gallant stance on Iraq, culminating in his recent passionate and historical debate calling for an enquiry into the Government's decision to go to war. However, he has also joined me on local campaigns in our constituency of Carmarthen East and Dinefwr fighting for care homes, NHS dentistry and opposing the privatisation of care services in the county. This is truly a reflection of Adam's work locally and nationally"
