Annedd reprieve delights supporters
Rhodri Glyn Thomas AM and Adam Price MP have expressed their delight at news that Annedd care home will be kept open whilst a new facility is being built. The Plaid Cymru elected members have been campaigning for a reprieve since the Council announced its intentions to close the care home completely.
Mr Thomas said:
"I'm delighted that the Labour/Independent run Council has been forced to act after residents and friends of Annedd voiced their concerns. The Council was planning on shutting this home with minimal consultation but thanks to the hard work of those opposed to the council's plans we have had a reprieve."
Mr Price added:
"Its great news for the people associated with the care home that the pressure exerted on the council in opposition to their proposals has paid off. It's important now that there is a positive effort to ensure that everyone is involved in any future consultations, and that the residents and staff at Annedd Care home are kept fully informed of developments of any future provisions."
