Plaid Secure Debate on the future of Remploy
Rhodri Glyn Thomas AM will confront the Welsh Assembly Government on the future of Remploy during Plaid Cymru's nominated debate at the National Assembly for Wales. (Wednesday 20th September). Plaid Cymru's Deputy Leader at the Assembly has been concerned for the future of the company and is looking for reassurances from the Welsh Assembly Government that the necessary support will be afforded to safeguarding the future of Remploy in Wales.
Mr Thomas said:
"With the recent review that has been conducted and the current modernization plan ongoing I feel this is an important debate to raise in the Assembly. It's vitally important that Remploy as an organisation is given the backing of the Welsh Assembly."
Mr Thomas added:
"I have raised this debate to highlight the current issues faced by Remploy. The Brynaman factory in my constituency provides a great service to the county and is responsible for the employment of a number of my constituents. I will be doing everything I can to safeguard the future of the company in Carmarthenshire and Wales."
