Plaid rally on low flying front

Adam Price MP and Rhodri Glyn Thomas AM have spoken out on the issue of low flying aircraft in Carmarthenshire following statistics published by the Farmers Union of Wales. The statistics published by the FUW, compiled through parliamentary questions raised on their behalf by Adam Price, show that Wales suffers substantially more low flying activity that England.

Mr Price said:

"Low flying activity is especially prominent in Carmarthenshire as it falls within one of the three tactical training areas. It does appear that Wales, and Scotland through the tactical training areas in the highlands and the Anglo-Scottish boarder, are taking the brunt of the low flying activity."

Mr Thomas added:

"I would urge any farmers that suffer a loss as a result of low flying activity to make a claim for compensation. The FUW's research clearly shows there is a case for compensation where an animal is injured or losses have occurred as a result of low flying activity."
