Plaid AM backs Hafal calls for framework implementation
Carmarthen East and Dinefwr's Assembly Member has called for the full implementation of the National Service Framework for Adult Mental Health Services launched in 2006. Rhodri Glyn Thomas was speaking following Hafal Week 2006 which took place last week.
Mr Thomas said:
"I support Hafal's aims and it is important that this framework is implemented fully. If the targets of the framework are met then it will make a significant difference to those people suffering with severe mental health in Carmarthenshire and Wales as a whole."
Mr Thomas added:
"There is a need for mental health treatment in Carmarthenshire; especially in rural areas were there is a lack of services available. Hafal have recognised this need through their consultation with people suffering with mental health issues in the county. It is important that anyone suffering should have the appropriate treatment readily available."
