Plaid Cymru speak out for the NHS over Labour demands
Plaid Cymru's Assembly member for Carmarthen East and Dinefwr has once again spoken out over the demand from the Welsh Assembly for the repayment of an Assembly loan, to be paid back over the next few years. Rhodri Glyn Thomas has called for the Welsh Assembly Government to tackle the issue of ensuring that sufficient funds are used responsibly to help NHS services in the area, rather than forcing a financially crippling repayment.
Mr Thomas said:
"I am concerned that the Labour Government is now insisting on the repayment of this money, rather than addressing the real issues and helping the trust overcome this difficulty in its budget."
Mr Thomas added:
"The increasing problems faced by the NHS in Carmarthenshire due to Labours mismanagement have not been made any easier by the Welsh Assembly Governments insistence on this loan repayment. With the already minimum NHS resources it is important that the Welsh Assembly look to solutions in aiding Carmarthenshire NHS with the shortfalls in its budget, not expect a significant amount of money to be diverted from the county's services"
