Plaid Cymru marches for affordable housing
Carmarthen East and Dinefwr Assembly Member, Rhodri Glyn Thomas, has helped raise money for housing charity Shelter Cymru. The Plaid Cymru Assembly Member joined young activists who marched towards Swansea from Cydweli as part of a sponsored walk launching Cymru X - Young Plaid's first campaign in the region.
Mr Thomas said:
"It was a positive day. I feel privileged to have been walking with such eager, politically empowered young people. It is also to be commended that the first Cymru X campaign in this region is an all encompassing one. There has never been a more important time to fight for young people to be able to buy their first home. As the current situation stands young people are being priced out of the housing market."
Chairperson of Cymru X Anthony Richards added:
"We are very pleased to announce that we have raised in the region of £1,000. Half the money will be donated to Shelter Cymru and the other half will go towards running an effective campaign, calling for affordable housing and a better standard of jobs for young people in the region."
