Assembly Members Make “Snap Decision” To Back Caravan Club’s Huge Investment In Wales

Local Assembly Member Rhodri Glyn Thomas joined fellow AMs in making a “snap decision” and pledged to take a promotional visit in the coming months to one of The Caravan Club’s many great sites of Wales.

While they are there, they will go on “The Record” by taking a holiday picture memento and also discover how thousands of visitors like themselves are bringing millions of pounds into the Welsh economy in the next twelve months.

The campaign was launched at the Senedd on Tuesday (July 5th) by The Caravan Club’s Director of Marketing, Lawrence Bate. Leading the way for the Assembly Members with a firm commitment to visit sites are Plaid Cymru’s, Rhodri Glyn Thomas AM, Bethan Jenkins AM and Lindsay Whittle AM.

Assembly Member for Carmarthen East & Dinefwr, Rhodri Glyn Thomas, said:

“I’m very happy to support the Caravan Club’s campaign to help encourage more people to holiday in some of our outstanding sites here in Wales.

“We have some of the most attractive resorts in Wales, confirmed this week with a Gower beach being voted the best in Britain. As the economic climate stops families jetting off on their usual holiday in the sun, there is no better time to increase the promotion of our own resorts.”

The Caravan Club says it hopes to recruit all 60 Assembly Members to visit a site in the next twelve months.  The Caravan Club’s Director of Marketing, Lawrence Bate, Said:

“It’s great that we have got a commitment to visit from a good group of AMs to start the ball rolling and we are very hopeful of recruiting all sixty AMs to the campaign in the next twelve months,

“It’s our aim to complete a photo “wall” of visit snaps by this time next year when we’ll come back to the Senedd and host a celebratory event to mark their efforts.”
